About Suluk – A Journey of Unveiling Myth

Jewellery, is wearable Dialogue—an artifact of unexpected blend of emotion, and human torso. A form that resists expectation. I do not create jewellery to adorn; I create to provoke, to awaken, to sculpt dreadfulness, courage of expression in object. Each piece is an extension of the wearer—an evolving entity, shifting with the body, defying serenity and courage. My journey as an artist has been a constant pursuit of this voyage, blowing the myth of self-revelation into something beyond itself. I feared facing what I abandoned—a past woven into the southern expanse of my country, where my story unraveled between the threads of ritual and defiance, memory and reinvention. A tapestry of female stereotypes, unspoken rules, and inherited silence shaped our being, yet a profound metamorphosis took place in this reflective landscape, the enchantment of the aroma of the childhood reve.

The struggle between conformity and individuality, the question of courage against societal norms, and the dilemma of detachment from one's authentic self—these conflicts did not fade; they embodied suluk. They became the pulse of my work, the essence of my creations, where jewellery is not merely an adornment but a revolution of form, sentiment, and existence.

Each piece I sculpt is an invocation, a reclamation, urging women to embrace the rawness of their emotions, to honor the fluidity of being, to awaken their life-giving myths. I do not seek perfection; I seek truth—the beauty in contradiction, the strength that is born from fragility.

Artist statement:

I was enveloped by the scent of those unforgettable moments...

The aroma of lamb's wool intricately woven by the women of the Ghasgghai tribe in my village,

 nestled on the hillside,

 and the earthy fragrance of rain-soaked woods from my grandfather's wood workshops, which faded with my childhood.

These fragrances linger on my skin,

 seeping into my very being;

How do they continue to stir my soul?

They are elusive yet undeniably captivating, concealing my feminine essence.

"Dare I adorn what I left behind?"
